I’ve turned.

Dear, sweet little Blythe. Suddenly every where I turn, there she is, orange eyes staring back at me. Really. In my cubby at work, in the refrigerator, next to the cheese (funny how it matches her eyes), and woah!- what’s that in my purse? My keys aren’t that big! Oh Sweet Jesus, it’s BLYTHE! Thank you, Rhea, for bringing Blythe into my life. The plan was to get back at my darling friend and co-worker. The plan was to hide Blythie in the bucket of embroidery thread and get her back. I can’t tell you the sweet, sweet victory I felt when I heard Rhea laughing heartily ( if not a little scared) from the utility closet. But was that really enough payback for Blythe in the fridge? I formulated many plans. I thought about it while I showered, while I drove, while I walked the dogs. And suddenly Blythe appeared on my new favorite blog, and hey, what’s that a hair-changing tutorial on the craftzine blog.

Terror slowly turned to curiosity. What if I made Blythe look like Rhea? What if I made a Rhea outfit, and accessories to match? The next logical question was- how do other people make clothes for their Blythe dolls? It was only a small, small step from my “research” to full on reverting to my ten year old love of making clothes for Barbie. Before I could stop myself, before I could convince boss Jamie that it was really in the name of payback that I was going to such lengths, I was making an outfit. And here it is.

Research. Oh, and Rhea, it’s still coming girl. You shall be repaid!
