A Window Garden!
Ever since I saw the window garden how-to in my Martha Stewart Good Things for Organizing book several years ago I’ve wanted a window garden. I have a fantasy of building a conservatory of my very own with a mossy herringbone brick floor and half a dozen marble topped tables full of magical and exotic plants. But until I can build it I’ll make do with my very own window garden!
I bought these beautiful wrought iron plant shelves at the Rosebowl Flea Market last Autumn and I’ve tried using them for extra craft storage, for sorting outgoing packages, just about everything except what they were meant for. It wasn’t until Eric moved his office out of the studio and I finally got to sit down and make it mine that I found the perfect place for my plant stand.
I sent my ironing board a-packin’ to the back of the studio, near my sewing machine, and that freed up the huge sliding door for a sweet reading nook. I put my faux-coco chair there, and my lovely white cutout coffee table next to it, where the window garden has made a home. So sweet! I have not only satisfied my craving for a window garden/ conservatory but found a use for my collection of itty bitty containers. I’m sure the collection will continue to grow *=*
I even succeeded in using one of my tiny ceramic pots!
More photos of the studio re-do as I cute it up!
