Scrumptious NEW PATTERN Posted!

Phew- I just got done with a marathon of crafting, my friends.  In less than 24 hours I’ve managed to conceive a project, and then plan, test, write, photograph, and post it as a PDF pattern!  I know- it’s insane!!  I think maybe Eric put rocket juice in my morning tea.

Well here it is lovely friends, the Easy Peasy Reversible Apron, complete with bias tape hints and tips.  The paper version is available for those who would like it- just drop me a note!

Before and After- Spring to Summer Cami!

Sorry my lovely readers, I know I’ve sort of vanished all week.  It’s been a wacky one!  But I promise I’ve got some juicy stuff for you.  Everyone loves a good Before and After!  This one goes out to all my bias tape lovers out there- An XL floral cami from the thrift store becomes a heart-necklined fitted Spring-to-Summer wardrobe staple!

BEFORE

AFTER

Here’s how I did it:

1. I washed my garment and then removed the existing straps.

2. I used 3 yards my favorite new vintage bias tape and folded right over the existing hemline, including the slits on the sides.

3. The neckline had tons of ruching that was a little distorting to my already ample bosom, so I trimmed off some of the excess and re-shaped the neckline into a much more flattering heart shape.  I then stitched my bias tape all the way around the top of the cami.

4. To make the straps I just put the cami on and had my hubby help me figure out a good strap length, which we pinned in place.  When you’ve got  . . . no point in being polite- when you’ve got big boobs it’s hard to hide your bra straps and that is the main reason I wanted to convert this cami.  To get thicker straps I just ironed my double fold tape open and sewed it to another strip, wrong sides together. I then sewed my straps in place.

5. To finish off I made a cute little bow and hand stitched it in place.  And voila- an adorable fitted cami that is great layered but can also be worn alone!

If this before and after made you happy, let me know in the comments and maybe I’ll do some more!
